Serge Poliakoff, born on January 8, 1906, in Moscow, Russia, was a prominent abstract painter who left an indelible mark on the world of modern art. Known for his bold use of color, geometric forms, and a deeply personal approach to abstraction, Poliakoff's work contributed significantly to the development of abstract art in the 20th century. He was part of the avant-garde art scene in Paris, where he settled, and his art evolved from figurative styles to non-objective abstraction over his career.
